Engineering across the region
Central Queensland is a geographically large and industrially diverse region. The Bowen Basin coalfields run through the centre. Sugar mills operate along the coast and in the Pioneer and Burdekin valleys. Regional manufacturing serves local industries. Councils manage water and wastewater infrastructure across remote areas. Ports and bulk terminals move commodity along the coast.
The electrical and automation engineering needs of these operations are varied, but the underlying requirement is consistent - control systems that work reliably, engineers who understand the equipment, and support that is available when something goes wrong.
Beetle Engineering is based in Mackay. We carry out project work across the CQ region and provide ongoing support to clients from Mackay north to the Whitsundays, west into the Bowen Basin, and south through the Pioneer Valley and Burdekin.
Regional engineering without capital city overhead
Engineering firms based in Brisbane or other capital cities can deliver work in Central Queensland - but the logistics add cost and reduce responsiveness. A fault call that requires a fly-in engineer is slower and more expensive than one that requires a two-hour drive. A site visit for a planning meeting that requires flights and accommodation is a different proposition to one that requires a day’s travel from Mackay.
Our regional base means we can engage with CQ projects at a scale and cost structure that capital city firms cannot easily match. Site visits, fault response, and ongoing support are all easier to deliver from a Mackay base than from a capital city.
Remote support capability
For clients across the wider CQ region, remote support is an important part of what we offer. Control systems with secure remote access configured can be diagnosed, monitored, and in many cases repaired remotely - without travel time or overnight stays. We work with clients to establish appropriate remote access infrastructure as part of our project and support contract scope, so that the option is available when it is needed.
